Activision reveals "DJ Hero", "Rock Hero", and Guitar Hero 5

Activision announced that they would expand the "Hero" franchise by adding 2 new games to it, Rock Hero, and DJ Hero.

DJ Hero will be a game that utilizes a turnable turntable controller with 3 buttons. Assuming it is like Guitar Hero and Rockband, you can expect to hold down a button on the turntable, and turn at the same time to register a note. Music genres include "hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica and dance," and the game will allow turntablists to create "original mixes" of songs. This game can either become a success, or an epic fail. We would have to wait for gameplay pics/vids in order to determine that.

Rock Hero is basically a family oriented Guitar Hero World Tour, aiming for a 10+ ESRB rating. It is set to compete with the LEGO Rock Band, another family music game.

The newly announced Guitar Hero 5 will offer "the ability to drop in and out of songs and change band members, instruments and difficulty levels on the fly." This was a feature wanted in previous music/band games.

There are no more details on GH5 or any of the other Hero games as of now, but you can expect more coming up at E3. These games are expected to come out between this Fall and the 2009-10' Winter Holiday Season.
